Russell Keith BRULOTTE Obituary

With heavy hearts, the Brulotte family announces the passing of their brother Russell Keith on Friday, October 9, 2020.

Russell was born July 1, 1950 in Natal, BC. He was six years old when the family moved to Fernie, which he started school that year. Russell attended school there till grade 12. He then moved on to Douglas College for upgrading. He then attended SFU in Burnaby and studied Archeology. He worked on notable digs for SFU in Texas, on a Woolly Mammoth recovery as well at the Mayan sites in Guatemala. 

He achieved journal writeups for his discoveries. He also did work in Kananaskis at Daisy Creek sites. He later received his Masters Degree in Anthropology at the University of Alberta. He then furthered his experience and taught Anthropology and English in Micronesia, Korea and Dalian, China before returning to Canada. He resided in Campbell River where he had grown ill and passed away peacefully with Chris Maundrell and John Leevers, two very good friends, at the Yucalta Lodge in hospice.

Russell is survived by sisters Elaine Peters, Paulette (Brian) Jeffrey, and Marilu (Brian) Rawson, brothers Robert (Bob) and Bud (Janice) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dad Paul, his mother Mary, and brothers Rick, Bill and Albert.

He will be interred in Fernie at a later date to be announced.
