Gregory E Hispanski

Gregory E. Hispanski, 28, a sports car enthusiast who loved to travel and had a larger than life personality, died on October 21, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, he later lived in Staten Island and Manhattan before moving to Metuchen, New Jersey. A graduate of Susan Wagner High School in Staten Island, he earned his associates degree at Middlesex County College and then his bachelors degree in business administration from Baruch College in New York. He worked in information technology for Con Edison, in New York. Gregory loved auto mechanics, and especially enjoyed working on and driving sports cars. An avid traveler, he had driven across the country several times with his beloved dog Midnight along for the ride, and had friends in nearly every state. He also traveled extensively across Europe. Greg loved music and enjoyed attending concerts and music festivals, as well as playing the trumpet. Gregory was a member of several marching bands as well as the "Tash Brothers Band." His second home was The Danish Home of Edison, where he was President of Lodge 46, President of the General Committee of Eastern Lodges, and vice president of the Home Board of Edison. Gregory was deeply passionate about his involvement with the Danish community. He is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Hispanski, who died in 2015, his grandpa, John, who died in 2006, and his cousin, Tracie Thoren, who died in 2005. He is survived by his grandma, Eleanor Hjulmand of Metuchen, two uncles, Rick Thoren of Metuchen and Jeffrey Hispanski of Gardiner, NY, and an aunt, Linda Stronczer of Rochester Hills, MI, as well as numerous cousins. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his memorial service will be private. His remains will be interred at the mausoleum at the Danish Home in Edison.
