Lila Frances Ybarra passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Ascension Via Christie-St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 82. She was born the daughter of Sinforiano and Angela (Dominguez) Negrete on February 12, 1938 in Parsons, Kansas. Lila worked the majority of her life in the health care field, working 37 plus years at St. Lukes Hospital/Sumner Regional Hospital. One of Lila's passions in life was her love of family. Family came first, from raising her 5 children, Sunday family dinners, family reunions to her annual Christmas Eve dinner with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. The most important constant in her life was her faith in God. It was this strong faith that helped her through many challenges in her life. Lila was united in marriage to Alfonso Ybarra November of 1959. She is survived by their 5 children: Martin of Norton, Kansas, Charley and partner Sonny of Glendale, Arizona, Tina and Roger Olivas of South Haven, Kansas, Julie and Tim of Allen, Texas and Samuel of Wellington, Kansas, siblings, Juanita and husband James of Wichita, Kansas; Ralph and wife Sharon of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Julia and husband Joe of Parsons, Kansas; Angie and husband Pete of Chanute, Kansas, Tony and wife Valentina of Alexandria, Virginia; Daniel of Parsons, Kansas; Maria and husband Bob of Parsons, Kansas; Cecilia and husband Paul of Overland Park, Kansas and Charles of Parsons, Kansas; grandchildren, Kelly Jo Barber and husband Steve of Melbourne, Florida; Casey Olivas and wife Sarah of Wichita, Kansas; Cy Olivas and partner Margarita of Caldwell, Kansas; John Michael Shepherd of Wichita, Kansas; Rebecca Shepherd of Wichita, Kansas; Madison Meredith of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Steve and Owen Barber of Melbourne, Florida; CJ Olivas, Calitee Olivas and Lenny Jane Olivas. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Eleanor and Marie, brother, John and grandson Zach Shepherd. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2020. Please adhere to the current public gathering guidelines when attending. Facemasks and social distancing are requested. Due to COVID-19 and associated church restrictions, a private Rosary and private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas. Interment will take place at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, Kansas. A memorial has been established in her name and loving memory with the American Diabetes Association.
