Sharon Ellen Tracy Obituary

TRACY, Sharon Ellen.  On October 24, 2020, at the age of 76, Sharon Ellen Tracy of Tracy, NB, passed away at Hospice Fredericton surrounded by her loved ones.  Sharon was born in Saint John, NB, on September 9, 1944, to the late Muriel (Sowers) and Earl Gill and was the wife of the late Bliss (Joe) Tracy.

Sharon is survived by two daughters; Debbie Reynolds and Melissa (Mark) Nowlan, and one grandson, Nicholas Reynolds, all of Fredericton, NB.  She is also survived by four sisters; Carol (John) Thornton of Dartmouth, NS, Elaine (Matt) Reed of London, ON, Beth Hayward of Fredericton, NB, and Judy Singer of Edmonton, AB, as well as two brothers; Earl (Carol) Gill of Lake Havasu, AZ and Ron (Marg) Gill of Calgary, AB.  She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Evelyn Clark, many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews, her cat, Gracie, and several furry grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Sharon is also predeceased by two brothers; Larry Gill and Paul Desgagnes, and, recently, by her beloved German Shepherd, Ben.

Sharon was a very kind, patient, thoughtful and forgiving person and had an adventurous spirit and a love of animals, music and people.  Despite many health challenges in the latter part of her life, she always maintained her faith and optimism as was always more concerned about others.  Involved in many hobbies and activities throughout her lifetime, she most recently enjoyed social outings including bowling, playing darts, cards and the occasional game of bingo, as well as quilting with the ladies of the Hoyt Hospital Aid.  Sharon also enjoyed fishing, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and watching the wildlife from her inviting sunroom.

Sharon wished to acknowledge the family of her organ donor whose gift allowed her to enjoy another 15 years with her beloved family and friends.  She was thankful for every day and never took that time for granted.

Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home on Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 2-4 and 6-8pm for visitation.  We regret, however, that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be by invitation only.  Interment is in the Tracy United Baptist Church Cemetery.  Should you wish, donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton, The Canadian Liver Foundation, CARMA Cat Rescue (Fredericton Chapter) or a charity of the donor’s choice.

To protect our loved ones from Covid-19 and meet Public Health guidelines, please wear a face mask and respect physical distancing.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (368-2413).  Condolences:  sunburyfuneralhome.com
