Arthur was born on October 12,1944, as the youngest child of seven to his parents Moses Jones Sr. and Hattie Jones. He graduated from Withrow High School and started working as a youth packing groceries and gathering carts for a local grocer in his hometown neighborhood. One of his biggest dreams and love of passion was to play MLB almost coming close to his dream; instead choosing a more realistic life goal being that he couldn’t play MLB he joined the United States Navy in 1967 where he served intermittently for seven years. One of his known accomplishments for all who knew Arthur during his journey here on earth is he loved being around others making them smile and really liked making peace between others

He is preceded in death by his five sisters: Claire, Dorothy, Goldie, Mary, Emma and one grandson, Cordell.

 Arthur was 76 years old at the time of his passing and is survived by his wife Bernice Jones of thirty-five years; his brother Moses (Sunny) Jones Jr., and three daughters, Jackie, Paulette and Sharon. Along with six grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 2712 Alms Place, Cincinnati  (45206).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Interment will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. 3rd Street, Dayton, 45428

In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter  the service and social distancing must be practiced.  Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
