Billy "Bill" Glen Stewart Obituary

Billy Glen Stewart, 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the Evansville Protestant Home. Bill was born in Clay, Kentucky on March 21, 1931 to the late Arnold Jackson and Mary Elizabeth (Botts) Stewart. He was a graduate of Bosse High School. Billy attended the University of Evansville before he was drafted into the United States Army. He honorably served in the Army and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Bill enjoyed hunting in Canada with his son and close friends, rebuilding Volkswagen cars, working on old clocks and was a talented musician. Family was most important to Bill. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandson and enjoyed attending all of their activities. Bill is survived by his son, Tim Stewart (Cindy) of Evansville, IN; brother, David Terry Stewart of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Melanie Schnell (Matt), Grant Robeson, Drew Robeson (Kim); and by his great-grandson, Jason Matthew Schnell. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Leigh Robeson; and by his parents. Because of the current pandemic, a graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Rock Springs New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Wheatcroft, KY, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 5528 Hogue Rd., Evansville, IN 47712.
