<p>Jack Rains passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27th. He was surrounded by his family at home in Trussville, AL . He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylin Webb Rains, son Johnny Rains, and his parents Fred and Minerva Rains and his brother, John Acton. He is survived by his sister Louise Hancock (Carlyle), his daughter Becky Pitts, his son Freddy Rains (Faith), Daughter-in-Law Alisa Rains Grandchildren: Beth Cates (Michael Hughins), David Pitts(Michael Rochi), Timothy Pitts(Jacob Wry), Jack Rains (Lisa Fisher), Max Rains, Robin Rains(Charles Miller) and Carrie Rains, and Great Grandchildren Jay Cates, Ethan Cates, and Anna Cates.<br /> <br /> He retired from Alabama Power in 1996 after 43 years of service and was the last of the employees originally hired by the old Birmingham Electric Company that later became Alabama Power.<br /> <br /> He loved golf and spending time with his family and there wasn&rsquo;t anything that he couldn&rsquo;t fix.<br /> <br /> He was 88 years old.</p>

He retired from Alabama Power in 1996 after 43 years of service and was the last of the employees originally hired by the old Birmingham Electric Company that later became Alabama Power.

He loved golf and spending time with his family and there wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix.

He was 88 years old.
