Mary Wanca, 83, passed away October 27, 2020 at home in Virginia. born in Summit, N.J., she was a lifetime resident of Garwood, N.J. She resided the last 5 years in Virginia Beach, Virginia. A committal service will be held Wednesday, November 4, 11 am at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J. Mary was very active in the town of Garwood. She was a member of the Town Council, Planning Board, and many other civic organizations. She retired from ExxonMobil, where she worked as a secretary for 42 years. She loved to travel, and worked part time as a travel agent. She also enjoyed crocheting, and was an avid knitter. One of her passions was playing tennis, as she played it all her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Anna Wanca; and her brother, Frank Wanca. Surviving are her beloved 3 nieces, Katherine, Jane, and Margaret; and her nephew Frank; as well as her loving great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.Obituary
