Margaret S Goodwin Obituary

Margaret Sarah Goodwin or “She Wee” as she was affectionately called. Daughter of the late William Johnson and Sarah Brodie, stepdaughter of the late William Brodie. Margaret was born February 17, 1955 in North Hampton County Virginia. She was the only child born to her mother Sarah Brodie and the eldest child of her father, two siblings Michael Johnson and Genelle Johnson preceded her in death.

At the early age of 10 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized.

Margaret received her education in the Baltimore City public schools and after high school she went to college and became a daycare teacher. Being a daycare teacher gave her so much joy. The parents and staff were impressed that she was able to teach her students Spanish. Margaret held a few jobs always in the capacity of caregiver. She also worked with mentally challenged adults for many years. To know Margaret was to love her. She had a beautiful infectious smile and a heart of gold. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Her three grandchildren were the light of her life, and she was and is still the light of theirs.

“She She” as her grandchildren called her, made time to take them to the circus, the zoo, and to just spend quality time with them.

Margaret was a gentle soul who loved animals, she spoiled her goldendoodle Brandy every chance she could. Brandy already misses her mom tremendously. Margaret was able to see something good in everyone: If you told Margaret that someone was a thief, she would say ”Well, they only steal to feed their family!”

Margaret leaves to Cherish her memories her two daughters: Lisa L. McNiel, Tara M, Shuron. One son-in-law: Nathan Mc Niel, Three grandchildren: Alise L. McNiel, Diontae T. McNiel, and Keyawn M.  Shuron. 10 siblings: Tony Carter, Raynell Cook, William Lee Johnson Jr., Jacob Johnson Sr., Andrew Johnson, Amos Johnson, Shirnell Langford, James Johnson, David Johnson, Annell Lemmie. Two aunts: Louise Rogers and Blossom Goodwin, Two godchildren: Stacy and Nicole Bradford. A special friend, Jeffrey Jones, and a host of family & friends.
