Carol Jean Lewis

Carol Jean Bishop Lewis, 67, of Bunker Hill passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Born April 1, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Cleveland Bishop and Christine May Sugars Bishop. Carol was a seamstress for more than 15 years. She was the manager at Shutts Cash Grocery for several years. She enjoyed shopping in her spare time. She is survived by one son, Raymond “Beaner” Lewis and wife, Rebecca of Bunker Hill; two daughters, Shawna M. Lewis of Bunker Hill and Crystal Carroll of Bunker Hill; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Phil Bishop and Buddy Bishop; two sisters, Gail Harris and Debbie Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lewis. The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open to receive friends only from the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor Chris Jones officiating, receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives. Interment will be in Mt. View Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
