Nikolaos K Papamihail

Papamihail, Nikolaos K. 84, of Paramus, NJ, passed away on October 27, 2020. Niko was born on March 28, 1936 on the island of Evia in Greece. He came to America in 1964 in search of the American Dream. He briefly returned to Greece in 1971 to marry the love of his life, Zografio. Upon returning to the United States, they started their life in Jersey City and eventually settled in Paramus, NJ. Through sacrifice and hard work, he was able to achieve his American Dream. Niko was a loyal parishioner of Saint Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Paramus. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors tending to his garden, walking in the park around the duckpond with his wife, and playing with his grandkids in the backyard. He always had a smile on his face. He lovingly welcomed people into his home with open arms and treated everyone he met with kindness. Niko leaves behind his loving wife, Zografio (Preka), his beloved son, Constantine Papamichael and family and his dearest daughter Evangelia, her husband Damianos Contopoulos, and his granddaughters, Zoe Irene and Demitra Nikoletta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed, but live in the hearts of those who loved him. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, October 29 at 12:30pm at St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church, 51 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652. Funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church in Paramus.
