J. Bruce Pogyor, age 72, of Elizabeth, formerly of West Mifflin, peacefully embarked on his next adventure after a two-year battle with cancer, on October 26, 2020. Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy (Gibson) Pogyor; brother, Edward (Eleanor) Pogyor; sister, Joyce (Dan) Tarabrella; brother in-law, Bobby Gibson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph S. and Julia R. Poygor; sister, Marlene Donahue, as well as three Fur-Babies, Bullet, Shadow, and Max. Bruce was a proud graduate of West Mifflin South High School and Robert Morris College, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Bruce's passion was golfing, especially in his golfing league. He also enjoyed reading, primarily non-fiction titles that specified in government and politics. Bruce loved going to the Meadows with his wife and playing Keno. Bruce and Cindy were season ticket holders for the Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed many games together. Bruce was known as "Uncle Smooth" to his many nieces and nephews, who he loved very much. He was their biggest supporter. Bruce will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, 15236. A Blessing Service will be held following Visitation at 7 PM at the Funeral Home's Chapel.
