Karen Ades Obituary

Karen’s life began on December 3, 1938, in McPherson, Kansas. She passed away on October 26, 2020 in El Dorado, Kansas. She was the daughter of Frank and Della (Peterson) Hanson. Karen was united in marriage to Lloyd Ades and they were married for 61 wonderful years before her passing. Karen loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved traveling throughout her lifetime and took trips to Hawaii and Alaska, but her favorite trip was her mission trip to Liberia in 2008. She devoted her life to helping others by becoming a registered nurse and spending 40 years working in the hospital. She volunteered during her off-time at the hospital as well and enjoyed delivering food with Meals on Wheels. She even kept up with her continuing education while she was no longer working in order to keep her nursing license. Karen was active in the First Baptist Church of El Dorado and enjoyed Sunday School with the church. Karen is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Joel and Robert Ades; brother, Kenneth (Grace) Hanson; and sister, Doris Hanson. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Ades; son, Steven (Donna) Ades; daughter-in-law, Maia; grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda, Garret, and Maggie; and three great grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 10:00am with a visitation from 5-7pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, both at Carlson Funeral Home.
