Leroy Sanburn

Mr. Leroy Sanburn, age 78, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. Funeral services for Mr. Sanburn will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home in Ball, Louisiana with Reverend Jack Powell officiating. The burial will follow the service in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Mr. Leroy Sanburn was a loving husband, Daddy, Pop, "Uncle Boo" and brother. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, then left the Navy to become an Alexandria Firefighter where he retired after 16 years as Captain. He then went to work for the National Parks Service as a safety instructor and carpenter. Mr. Sanburn was a good cook and most known for his biscuits and tomato gravy. Mr. Sanburn was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Carlton Sanburn, Sr. and Mary Davis Sanburn; brothers, H.C. Sanburn, Jr. and Dewey Wayne Sanburn; and sistes, Reba Sanburn, Eloise Robertson, and Lucille Alexander. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 51 years, Helen Hataway Sanburn; daughters, Kelli Murrell (Jason) and Susan McClung (Dan); grandchildren, Gilly Murrell, Lauren McClung, Presley McClung, and Ella Murrell; brother, Mack Sanburn; dogs, Flowergirl and Allie Mae; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
