Obituary

Michael Anthony Stattelman, 61, passed away October 22, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was born September 18, 1959 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Conrad (deceased) and Velma (Grame) Stattelman.  Mike was a 1977 graduate of Seaman High School.  He was a veteran and served in the Army from 1980-1983 in Germany and Colorado.

Mike married Lisa (Murrill) Stattelman on August 20, 1983 and is survived by her, their son, Cory Stattelman, 25 and their dog, Otto.  He is also survived by his two brothers, C.J. and Steve, and many extraordinary nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike had recently moved to Pahrump, Nevada with Lisa to enjoy warm weather and Raiders football.  Mike spent his time working on his hobby of building models and creating dioramas.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking (although he tended to over-spice), and walking and playing with his beloved dog, Otto.  He was always willing to help his neighbors and friends and did so whenever possible.  In death he continued to help through organ donation, and we are hopeful a few lives were saved.

Mike was cremated and Lisa and Cory plan to return to Kansas in the Spring for an informal memorial/get together to honor and celebrate Mike’s life.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306, or at tunnel2towers.org.  This Foundation sponsors programs to benefit military and first responders and their families.
