Paiva, Gilda J. (Faella), 83, a lifelong North Providence resident, passed peacefully on October 26, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late Norman J. Paiva, Sr. for 63 years until his passing.  Gilda was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza (Villa) Faella and sister of the late Sylvio Faella and Carmella Cicerone.

Gilda worked as a receptionist at the Salvatore Mancini Senior Center in North Providence for twenty years.

She is survived by three children, Cynthia Lee, Norman J. Paiva Jr. and his wife Isabel, and Mark Paiva, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her dog, Zoe.  She was the mother of the late Joanne Paiva.

Her funeral services and burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
