Obituary
Florence Anne Czerwinski, 66, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away surrounded by those dearest to her on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
Flo was born in Chester, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1954, daughter of the late Lester and Florence (Pierce) Wooters. Flo was a Bartender at 35th street Café where she met plenty of friends. She owned and operated a cleaning business for 15 years and amassed a loyal clientele base. After dissolving her business, Flo was employed with Greenwood Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center, where she helped many people afflicted with the disease of addiction. Her final employment was as a home health assistant to Mrs. Craven, a member of the DuPont Family. A member of the Democratic Party, Flo was proud to serve as a commissioner for the Town of Newport for the last six years.
Flo enjoyed time at the beach, 4th of July Fire Works, Eating Crabs, horseback riding, spending time at Gulls Way Pool, and attending Mass. Her greatest joy in life was being a “Babci” to her beloved grandchildren and spending time with family during Christmas Eve Wigilia.
Flo will be dearly missed by her husband of 35 years, George D. Czerwinski; her daughter, Felicia Angelica Staker and husband, George Francis Staker III; her grandchildren, Sophie and Samuel Staker. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Joseph B. Pierce and Best Friend/Sister, Peggy Marie (DiVirgilio) Smith.
Funeral arrangements for Flo will be conducted in compliance with COVID-19 directives, which require mandatory face masks and social distancing.
Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Hedwig Church, 408 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington on Friday, October 30 from 9:00-10:45AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM. Interment will be held privately.
