ROBERT DONALD WILSON August 2, 1939 - October 25, 2020 Robert Donald Wilson was 81 years old when he passed away at home peacefully on October 25, 2020 in Bakersfield, CA. He was born in Dallas, TX on August 2, 1939. He was raised in Dunne Memorial Boys Home and then joined the US Navy in 1956. He served on the USS Hancock CVA-19 from 1956-1960. He married his wife Pat on May 16, 1959. He was employed at Tosco Oil Refinery as an Operator/Turnaround Planner for 35 years. After retirement, Robert & Pat traveled through 13 countries. After traveling they became fulltime RVers and traveled to 30 states. He loved to garden and plant succulents and cactus. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, his two sons Roger (Kim) and Brian (Dana), his grandchildren Joshua, Robert, Bryana (David), and Eric and two great granddaughters Lily and Ellie. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debora. No services will be held per his wishes but his ashes will be scattered in the San Fransico Bay where his aircraft carrier docked every year and he always said that was the best day of his life coming back under the Golden Gate Bridge in the Navy.
