Alvin Pickering, 86, of Kirbyville died Monday, October 26, 2020 at his home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, Oct. 30, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday at the funeral home chapel. Born February 21, 1934 to Robert and Amelia Pickering in Dequincy, LA, he had lived in Kirbyville the past 17 years and previously worked as a machinist. He also served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Florence Pickering of Kirbyville; daughters, Cheryl Lauderdale and Scott of Kirbyville, Angela Breaux and Chris of Beaumont; "adopted daughter" Mattie Bills of Lumberton; brother, James Pickering and Jewel of Vidor; grandchildren, Alexandrea Lauderdale, Mason Lauderdale, Seth Breaux; great grandchildren, CJ Contreras and Noah Alvin Contreras. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Amelia Pickering; brother Ronnie Pickering.
