Gerald (Jerry) Ingram

On October 26, 2020 Gerald (Jerry) Ingram, the father of two children, passed away at the age of 75. Jerry was born November 3, 1944 in Eclectic, AL to L.C. and Carlyn Ingram. On August 28, 1965 he married Linda Swink. They raised two sons, Jeffrey (Jeff) and James (Jim). He worked for the Montgomery Fire Department for 20 years, retiring as a district chief. He loved and was loved by everyone. He especially loved his fire department family, whom he spent 20 years with. Jerry enjoyed deer hunting, bird hunting and fishing. He and his father-in-law, Monroe Swink, along with the two boys spent many hours together enjoying these past times. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, L.C., his mother, Carlyn, his sister, Teresa, and his son, James (Jim). He is survived by Linda Ingram, his son Jeff, his sister, Judy Parker and his six grandsons, Stephen, David, Daniel, John, Ethan and Jerry. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Minister John David Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Alcazar Shriners (555 Eastern Blvd., Montgomery, AL 36117).
