Leona “Nonie” M. Porter, 92, of Eckhart, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2020, at Sterling Care. 

Born February 8, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Fayetta (Phillips) Holsinger. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George W. “Bill” Porter; son, William Dennis Porter; grandson, Brandon Lee Porter; brothers, Robert, William, and Charles Holsinger; sister-in-law, Verna. 

Nonie was a homemaker and was a life-long member of Eckhart United Methodist Church and the Helping Hands of the church. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. 

Surviving are her son, Warren Lee Porter and wife Barbara of Eckhart; daughter-in-law, Joyce Porter of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Jeffrey Porter of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jennifer O’Baker and husband Troy of Frederick, MD; granddaughter, Jessica Brummage and husband Andrew of Fayetteville, PA; great-grandchildren, Evan Porter, Ian Porter, both of Myrtle Beach, Cabryn Farris and Lilly Farris, J.R, Austin and Bailey Brummage of Fayetteville, PA; one sister, Harriett Fanto and husband John, Rawlings; one brother, Bousson Holsinger, McCoole; and several nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, from 10 am to 12 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 12 noon with Rev. George Harpold officiating. 

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
