Shirley L. Eger, 91, passed away October 25, 2020, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born October 22, 1929, in Portland the daughter of Stanley and Hazel (Danforth) Clark.

Shirley graduated from Deering High School and soon after met her true love, Ralph E. Eger Sr. from Lilly, PA. They married in 1949 at the First Baptist Church in Portland. Later they played guitar and sang with a group playing at nursing homes, churches and prisons. Shirley worked at Maine Medical Center, Osteopathic Hospital and Bennetts Retirement Home in Windham.

She is survived by her children; two sons, Ralph Eger Jr. and wife Marie of Virginia, Alan Eger and wife Jane of Westbrook; two daughters, Cheryl McGuire and husband James of Hampden, Sharon Price of West Virginia; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Ralph E. Eger Sr in 2010, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a son-in-law Robert Price.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
