Leon Sprouse Obituary

Elmer Leon Sprouse, age 83, of Neola, passed peacefully of natural causes, in his home on the morning of October 24, 2020.
He was born on December 12, 1936 in Vernal Utah, to Clive Sprouse and Myrtle Richins  They taught him the value of hard work and Leon owned and operated many businesses over his lifetime. Leon’s favorite business was cattle ranching. He found it impossible to give up, even at age 83. He didn’t know how to be lazy. His strong work ethic and unfailing determination was an inspiration and example to all his children and everyone who knew him.  He married the love of his life, Doris Luvee Hood, on April 4, 1976, and they were later sealed in the Provo Temple.      Leon loved hard work and he loved to serve his church. He served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with his faithful wife of 45 years, Luvee in 2002-2003 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Mission, and  2019-2020 to the Ohio Columbus Mission.  Leon sincerely loved his family, friends, and church, they loved him back. His friends and family will always be comforted by the many fond memories of fun times spent with him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Luvee, two sisters, Lavar (Lamar) Moffitt;  and Judy Walker, a brother Gary (Mary Joy) Sprouse, and many nieces and nephews. His seven children, Diana Barker, Niles (Genie) Sprouse, Robby (Laura) Sprouse, Ann (Joe) Heavin, Jody Sprouse, Robin (Tim) Filiaga, Carrie (Mason) Coltrin; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, an infant son and daughter and a baby brother.
