Charles Richard 'Ritchie' Eksal, Scotchtown Obituary

It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Charles Richard 'Ritchie' Eksal on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at New Waterford Hospital. Born in Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Raymond and Hilda (Upshall) Eksal. In earlier years, Ritchie was a member of the Army Engineers. He went on to own and operate various service stations in the area as well as doing body work. In his spare time, Ritchie loved building antique cars. Surviving are son, Raymond (Cheryl) Eksal; daughter, Raylene Eksal; grandchildren, Rebecca (Blaine), Colin, both in Alberta, Cody, Rosie, both in New Waterford, Alan, Glace Bay, Cheri-Lyn, New Waterford, Joey, Sydney; great-grandchildren, Laken, Jayden, Cadi-Lyn, Thomas and Jaxson. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Diane and brother, Raymond, in infancy. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A private graveside service will be held in Union Grove Cemetery, Scotchtown, at a later date.
