Sheldon “Shelly” Majeske, 87, of Webster passed away Sunday October 25, 2020 at Sanford Hospital Webster. Private Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 30, 2020 and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. The family respectfully requests masks be worn. Public walk through visitation will be on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Sheldon “Shelly” Herman Majeske was born on November 20, 1932 to William and Erna (Schutte) Majeske in Winthrop, Minnesota. He was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop. The family moved to Webster, South Dakota in 1940 when Sheldon was eight years old. He was confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. Sheldon graduated from Webster High School in 1953. After his education he enlisted in the United States Army on September 22, 1953 and was honorably discharged in December. He was united in marriage to Sharon Williamson on June 11, 1955 in Bristol, South Dakota. The couple lived in Florence for one year and moved to Webster in 1956. To this union three children were born, Randy, Shala, and Karlene. Sheldon was a lineman and a foreman for Northwestern Public Service Company where he worked to get power back on for customers. He worked as a lineman for 38 years before his retirement on October 28, 1994. Sheldon also worked for the Webster Cemetery in the summer months for 15 years. Sheldon was a member of American Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family. Sheldon passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 5 days. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Majeske of Webster, SD; one son, Randy (Cheryl) Majeske of Aberdeen, SD; two daughters, Shala (Tom) Senske of Sioux Falls, SD and Karlene (Mikey Hickey) Everson of Rapid City, South Dakota; one brother, Edwin (Donna) Majeske of Webster, South Dakota; one sister, Caroline (Vernon) Hanson of Webster, South Dakota; six grandchildren, Jordan and Blake Majeske, Serena Darger, Samantha Kuecker, Stacy Rolfes, and Erica Everson; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ervin, and sister Marie Stark.
