Patricia Ann Vedquam Obituary

Patricia Vedquam----79, Minot, ND, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 in a Minot Nursing Home.  Patricia Ann Patterson was born on August 20, 1941, in Bottineau County, a daughter to Ernest and Alice (Anderson) Patterson.  She was raised and educated in Souris where she graduated.  She furthered her education as a Cosmetologist in Bismarck, ND and worked in Bottineau and Mohall after certification.  On June 1, 1968, Patricia was united in marriage to Elroy J Vedquam at First Presbyterian Church in Souris, ND.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Minot, where they raised their family. She was a homemaker, who also worked in the bakery at the grocery store, the lunchroom at Washington School, and as a security guard at the airport.    Patricia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Washington School PTA, and a Den Leader to a local chapter Boy Scouts of America.  Patricia cherished her family and adored her grandchildren.  She found great joy taking over the “taxi service” for them after the passing of her husband, and relished even the simplest moments together playing peak-a-boo.  She was a great provider to all, selfishly hosting meals to others and knitting afghans and potholders. She enjoyed baking; Christmas goodies were a favorite mastering the krumkake.  She loved watching her soap operas, and had a special place in her heart for dogs.  She donated to the Humane Society and was always looking out for the neighborhood dog.  Patricia is survived by her children: Lisa (Steve)Hoffer, Mike Vedquam, and Cheri (Michael Cadotte) Pounds; grandchildren: Jessica (Jacob) Erdmann, Christopher Hoffer, and Madison Cadotte; great-grandchildren: Allie Erdmann; Brother: Ronald (Helen) Patterson; Sister: Carolyn Patterson; brothers-in-law: Wayne Vedquam, Jerome Burckhard, Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.                Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy “Papa” Vedquam; son-in-law, Terry Pounds; and her parents, in-laws Eloise Burckhard and Everett (Mary) Vedquam.  Visitation: Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Chapel, Minot, ND. CDC Covid-19 regulations will be followed and masks required.   Funeral Service: Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 10:30 am at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Minot, ND, following all Covid-19 regulations. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcjWFrGb-g0 then click on watch live.    Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
