Funeral services for Thomas Inmon Powell, 100 of Epps, Louisiana will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Epps Baptist church located in Epps, Louisiana with Bro. Eddie Fuller and Bro. Johnny Smith officiating. Visitation will be held at Epps Baptist Church on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Epps Cemetery immediately following the church service under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville. Pallbearers will be Eric Trawick, Neil Trawick, Ryan Powell, Trent Powell, Robert Fuller, Jason Doyle, Lauren Leviton. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Epps Baptist Church. On Monday, October 26, 2020, at the age of 100, Thomas Inmon Powell entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, reuniting with his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy, or “Butch” as he affectionately called her. T.I. was born to John and Alice Powell on August 10, 1920 in Rosefield, Louisiana, the fourth of 6 children. He married Dorothy Marie Scott on January 27, 1942, before serving his country in the European Theater of World War II. He was a Corporal in the Timberwolves 104th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He was awarded World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, SO 6 Hq 387th FA Bn American Theater Service Medal. Their motto is "Nothing in hell can stop the Timberwolves,” which T. I. Powell personified throughout his life. In the 1950s, T.I. and Dorothy settled in Epps, Louisiana where they would raise their 3 children: Nina, Ronnie, Tommy, and watch their family grow. It was here that Inmon would minister to the community through his many roles at Epps Baptist Church. He served faithfully as Deacon, Training Union Director, Treasurer and choir member, among others. Inmon did not avoid hard work. He spent countless hours on his tractor, after work and during "retirement." If one wanted to meet with him, come early, come late, or check the pasture. He was dedicated to God, his family, his community… and his cows! In recent years, Inmon was well cared for by the staff of Deerfield Nursing Center. The Lord opened doors for his children to spend last precious time with their loving father before he peacefully went home. Thomas Inmon was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Marie Scott Powell, one grandson Michael Scott Powell, one granddaughter Carmen Lynn Trawick, his parents John and Alice Powell, three sisters Malissa Butts (Ed), Johnnie Theobald (Roger), Ann Erickson (Gail) and two brothers Joe Powell (Reba), JD Powell (Annie Mae). He is survived by his children: Nina Trawick (Melvin), Ronnie Powell (Sandra), and Tommy Powell (Bertha). He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Stacy Doyle (Jason), Bridgett Fuller (Robert), Ryan Powell (Stephanie), Cathy Leviton (Lauren), Eric Trawick (Sara), Trent Powell (Beth), Neil Trawick (Margaret), 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren and numerous relatives, nieces and nephews. The Powell family does not merely survive Thomas Inmon Powell, but they carry on his heritage of love, faith, laughter and service to others.
