Bryan Donald McKay, age 63, a lifetime resident of Lapeer, died Saturday, October 24, 2020. Bryan was born September 1, 1957 in Lapeer to Don and Arlene (Stanley) McKay. He graduated from Lapeer High School, class of 1975. Bryan worked as a waiter in several local restaurants – most noteworthy Lapeer Big Boy, The Villa and EG Nick’s. He had a passion and was very talented at refurbishing houses. He was a gifted painter and wallpaper hanger. Bryan loved dogs, pets – all animals. He had an eye for antiques. Bryan was gifted with the art of making people laugh. Bryan is survived by his siblings: Janice Royce of Lapeer and Keith (Stephen) McKay of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; niece, Kristie (Richard) Rego of Casco; nephews: Mike (Mina) Gardner of Lapeer and John Gardner of Lapeer; and great nieces and nephews: Kyle, Nikki, Calvin and Leah. He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents. Bryan will be buried next to his parents in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lapeer. In light of current health concerns, a memorial service is being planned for some time in the future. Services have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
