George Louis Curtis

George Louis Curtis, age 92, passed away on October 23, 2020 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. George was son of the late Reuben Curtis and Ruth A. (Sutphin) Curtis, and was married to the late Ruth A. (Ruppert) Curtis. He is predeceased by his sister, Delores (Curtis) Hagan. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. George was a life-long resident of Hunterdon County. He was born in Flemington and lived there until 2012, when he moved to West Amwell Township to be lovingly cared for by long-time family friends, Kim and George Tilton. George was a 1946 graduate of Flemington High School and received his Associates Degree from Rider University in 1968. He was the Office Manager for Bemis for 33 years, served as the business manager for the Good News Home for Women, and owned the Bible Book Store in Flemington for several years. He volunteered for years at Hunterdon Medical Center and was awarded the Wescott Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014. George was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Flemington and most recently was a member of Washington Crossing United Methodist Church. He had a very large heart for missions and made multiple short-term missions trips with his dear friend Jack Belin to spread the gospel to those in great need. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A brief graveside service and interment will follow at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Ringoes, NJ. In Lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Good News Home for Women, 33 Bartles Corner Rd, Flemington, NJ 08822.
