Elizabeth A. Hickman Obituary

Loogootee-Elizabeth A. Hickman, 70, of Loogootee died on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her residence. Born on January 3, 1950, she was the daughter of Byrl T. Jenkins and Louise E. Jenkins. She married John Tony Hickman on August 17, 1967. She attended Shoals High School, and received her Master’s degree from Oakland City University where she taught for twelve years at the campus in Bedford, IN. She was a member of Loogootee United Methodist Church, was a devout follower of Jesus Christ from her childhood and was known for her strong faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two of her siblings, Anah and Stephen. Mrs. Hickman is survived by her husband, daughter Joy E. Speer of Odon, sons: John T. Hickman of Bedford, and Jeremy Hickman of Greenwood; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and four siblings, David, Joseph, Mark, and Philip. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 27th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Mark Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Silverville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, October 27th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
