Vanessa D. Hope Obituary

Vanessa Denise Hope, 58, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020. Affectionately called “Aunt V”, she was born on January 1, 1962 at General Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to Corline Stone and Warren Harrison (Henry Stone, step-father). She was initially baptized at Revelation Baptist church by Reverend James Howard. Vanessa confessed her life to Jesus Christ again at age 58 at the House of Hope Fellowship Church by Pastor Larry Nick Burnett on October 12, 2020. She married Benjamin Hope of Cincinnati, Ohio on October 19, 1980. Vanessa attended Cincinnati Public Schools. She graduated from Robert A. Taft High school in 1980. Vanessa entered the United States Army at age 18. She accomplished more than most. As a Sergeant (E-5) in the U.S. Army, Vanessa led her troops. She was honorably discharged. Vanessa worked as a dietary aide at a nursing home after she accomplished her service commitment. She was a loving mother, great daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Vanessa was an optimistic, confident and outspoken woman. She was a great listener with excellent communication skills. Vanessa's gift was making others laugh and smile. Her smile lit up rooms. Vanessa's hobbies included singing and dancing. She loved to give speeches. Vanessa was a wonderful person. She leaves her precious memories to be cherished by her mother, Corline Stone, and father, Warren Harrison; loving children, LaTasha Hope (Patrick Lokossi) of Cincinnati, Ohio, LaKisha R. Watkins (Williefon Watkins-Gray) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kevin Metz, Malcolm Metz, and Muhammad Metz; grandchildren, Alexus Hope, Rhane Hope, Coby Harris, Lerois Harris, Robert Jeter, Ra’Niyah Hope, Ra’Shyah Jeter, Kevin Metz, Jr., King Metz, and Amina Metz; one great-grandchild, Emmett “EJ” Brown; three brothers, Anthony W. Maul (Cynthia) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cedric L. Stone (Allison) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rodney B. Stone (Ebony) of Cincinnati, Ohio; Carolyn Stone Nash (Gaston) of Detroit Michigan; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vanessa was preceded in death by her step-father, Henry Stone (2004); sister, Henrietta Rochelle Stone (2009); and daughter, Africa Hope (2012). Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at House of Hope Church, 1829 Elm St, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. Interment will be held in Spring Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements entrusted to the care of KINLEY Funeral Home.
