James Duell West Obituary

James Duell West, age 78 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born on August 8, 1942, to the late Henry and Teamie West. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Janet; daughter Denise; son Anthony; grandson Chris Bell and fiancé Lynsee Reneau.

Duell is survived by his daughter Lisa Bell and husband Greg; grandchildren: Weston Bell, Olivia Freels, Peyton Orick, Byron and Bryce Duncan; great-grandchildren: Topher Bell, Ella and Fin Freels; sisters-in-law Linda King and Betty Akers; brother-in-law Don Stanley and wife Alice; special friends, O.B. Cotton, Buddy McDonald, Bill Slaven, and Ruthie Mullett; special cousin Dean Chambers; many other special family and friends.

The Family would like to give a special thanks to the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center, the Lafollette Medical Center, Scott County Ambulance Service, and the 6th floor Staff at UT Medical Center, and hospice staff members Robyn and Dr. Pearman.

Duell’s request was a private graveside service at the West Family Cemetery in the Pine Hill Community with Bro. Charles Northup officiating.  Music will be provided by Chris Sewell.

Pallbearers will be: Greg Bell, Weston Bell, Steve Bell, Tommy Bell, Byron Duncan and Bryce Duncan.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control.  Masks are required.
