Alexander A. Bressler Obituary

Alexander A. Bressler, 72, of Harrisburg, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 16, 2020, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Pottsville on July 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Clair and Lilly Bortolato Bressler. Alex retired as a Dispatcher for the Comcast Corporation. He was a 1966 graduate of Tri Valley High School, Schuylkill County, received an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from the Harrisburg Area Community College, and attended Elizabethtown College. Alex coached Little League baseball, basketball and soccer. A man with a strong faith, he appreciated and used the gift of musical talent God gave him to play gospel music at nursing homes and sing in the church choir at Chambers Hill United Methodist Church. An avid guitar player, he loved music, especially Gordon Lightfoot. Never letting his physical disability get in the way, Alex was able to touch so many lives in so many ways. He was a man passionate about his interests, never shying away from a conversation that would inevitably make you laugh and smile. He filled every day with laughter and joy. More than anything, however, he loved and cherished his wife, children and grandchildren. Alex is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara A. Kaylor Bressler, whom he married on February 3, 1978; two sons, Christopher Bressler and Eric Bressler both of Harrisburg; one daughter, Danielle Seeling wife of Kevin of Malvern; three grandchildren, Lily Seeling, Rose Seeling and Alexander Seeling all of Malvern; two brothers Joseph Bressler husband of Leah of Carolina Beach, NC, and Nicholas Bressler husband of Beth of Bloomingdale; and nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, services will be held at a later date. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. Those desiring may send memorial contributions to Someone To Tell It To, 216 State Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101; or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
