Eddie R. Gepford

FRONTENAC, KANSAS: Eddie R Gepford, age 72, passed away unexpectedly at 9:44 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Mr. Gepford was born December 31, 1947 in Pittsburg, KS. His parents were Edward A. and Theresa (Costantino) Gepford. He grew up in Frontenac, KS and graduated high school there with the class of 1965. After living in Sand Springs, OK for 14yrs where he worked as a printer for Roger’s Litho. Eddie & Debra returned to Pittsburg in 1993 to be with family and work at PittCraft Printing, After many years, he happily retired from PittCraft in 2012. He was an active member at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Pittsburg, KS congregation. He maintained a pilot’s license and loved to fly. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and beekeeping, and most of all being with his grandchildren. Eddie met the love of his life Debra E. Gaddy while working together at The Casa Nova, which was his aunt’s restaurant in Frontenac, KS and they married on September 18, 1971 in Pittsburg, KS. They celebrated 49 years of marriage this past September. Debra survives at the home. Eddie was the kindest, most hardworking, generous, laid back man with a bright smile and an infectious laugh. Everyone who got the pleasure of meeting him was instantly a fan. He had the best personality and an awesome sense of humor. His wife says there’s no one like him and his daughters and grandkids would describe him the same - an irreplaceable one of a kind man. Additional survivors include three daughters, Dawn Shoemaker (Brent), Pittsburg, Stacy Daniels (Jason), Columbus, KS, and Amanda Gepford (Brian Henegar), Liberal, MO; one brother, Steve Gepford (Shirley Jaynes) Pittsburg; one sister, Tina Vanderpool (Steve Vanderpool), Oronogo, MO; and eight grandchildren, Justin Goodelk (Lexy), Courtney Miller (Mick), Maddie Goodelk, Brody Daniels, Chloe Daniels, Macy Daniels, Lucas Brummett, and Kylie Kukovich. Also numerous Nephews, Nieces, Cousins & loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward & Theresa and a brother Danny Gepford (Cindy). Per his wishes, he was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
