     On Sunday, Oct 18, 2020, Gary Layton, loving father and grandfather, went to be with Lord at the age of 63. Gary was born April 24, 1957 in Orange, Texas.  He attended Deer Park High School where he was an excellent student with a passion for the sciences. He was also a talented tennis player who won several trophies from numerous tournaments.  After high school, he worked as an electrician helper at Brown and Root in the Houston Area and was later an assistant manager for Michael's Arts and Crafts.

      Gary had a love of reading and watching professional tennis.  He enjoyed spending time with his son and granddaughters, moving to Joshua to be closer to them.

       Gary is preceded in death by his father Curtis Layton, brother Robin Layton, grandparents Fred and Ola Warwick, Curtis and Beatrice Layton and Leonard and Lula Dorsey.  He is survived by his son Devon Layton, two precious granddaughters, Athena and Karalyna, his  mother Linda Layton, sister Karen Honer, brother in law Craig Honer, sister in law Julie Quimby, and nieces and nephews, Chelsea, David, Ben, Jaclyn and Reese. Services will be held on Monday, October 26,2020,  at the Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 SW. Wilshire Blvd. Joshua Texas at 1:00 pm.
