Lafon Joy Kortman 56, of Yale, past away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 while on hospice. She was born and raised in Holland, Michigan to Harris and Joyce Kortman. She was a longtime resident of Toledo, OH and of Yale, MI. She is survived by two adored children, Joshua J. Rutt and Kathryn J. Rutt; two brothers and a sister, Calvin, Mark and Renee; several nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Ronald J. Giles. Lafon loved communing with nature and was an artsy Aquarius. Joyous in this life and extremely happy in the next. A grateful friend of Bill W. since 2/18/2003. A memorial luncheon will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church of Yale. Memorials are suggested to the We Care Resale by the Yale Ministerial Association.
