Abraham “Julio” Yamuni Warren, Michigan Obituary

Abraham “Julio” Yamuni

Abraham Roberto Yamuni was born and raised in Tilaran, Costa Rica. While the world around him was beautiful, his grandmother (Celia Issa) believed he and his brother (Juan Yamuni) would have more opportunities in the U.S.A. So he, his brother and grandmother decided to head north. Upon his arrival, he set out seeking independence, acceptance and the true american dream. His hard work on the farms of Costa Rica easily translated to work in the states and his strikingly good looks made him stand out in the crowd. Not only did he have the looks, but he had the work effort and drive of three men. He had true grit and was as creative as they come. During the day he was a spot welder at Budd Company (~35years) but in between shifts he created his own supplemental income by providing food/beverages by way of establishing his own food stand. He would feed the line workers during and between shifts and some days he would work 14+ hours a day. He knew he wanted a better life and he wanted to be a provider for his family. In 1961, during a leisurely stroll through the streets of Detroit he decided to stop at a record store he frequently visited. Little did he know what he would soon be faced with, the woman of his dreams. The dark-complected mysterious man caught the eye of a gorgeous blonde, they engaged in small talk and he swept the woman of his dreams off her feet. He soon married the love of his life (Judith Yamuni) and together they had two wonderful girls, Deborah Yamuni and Lisa Lee. His girls were taught at a young age the value of hard work and respect. Deborah and Lisa continue to live out Abraham's legacy today. His loving wife, Judith will forever and always cherish her husband. While this is goodbye for now, their kindred spirits will live on in eternity. There are so many wonderful things that one could say about this man but the one thing that truly stands out above all was his ability to love. He loved his wife, his daughters and he especially, above all loved his grandchildren (Gary Lee, Lacey Lee, Matthew Blixt, Stephanie Platz, Danielle Blixt, Samaira Yamuni) as well as his great grandchildren (Zainab Mothana, Mila Platz, Abdul Mothana, Selma Mothana, Theodore Lee, Cassius Platz). Thank you for all you have done, we love you "Julio". Please rest your gentle soul A Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 25 at Woodside Bible Church - Warren Campus, 27300 Hoover Rd., Warren. His family will receive friends beginning at 2pm until the time of the service at church.
