<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Raymond Patterson, age 80, of West Main Street, Forest City, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Raymond was born October 30, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Hugh Patterson and Francis Fowler Patterson. He worked for Reeves Brothers for over thirty years before retirement and was an avid hunter and fisherman.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Patterson and a second wife, Mary Dobbins Patterson and by his brother, Ernest Patterson.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Cindy Hargett of Ellenboro and Daphne Layton of Mooresboro; six grandchildren, David Lane II (June) of Ellenboro, Raymond Lane (Ashely) of Rutherfordton, Judy Lane of Mooresboro, Joseph Ware of Asheville, Beth Ware of Gilkey, Rebecca Ware of Columbia, SC and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five sisters, Shirley Leverette, Betty Crowder, Carolyn Yarsboro, Nellie Hubert, Margaret Mode and a brother, Howard Patterson.</p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Paul Lane officiating. Interment will follow in the Spindale City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
