Dorothy Evelyn Race, 93, of Oxford passed away on October 20, 2020. Dorothy was born in Norwich, NY, daughter of the late Melvin Walker and Dorothy Thompson. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Donald Race. Dorothy is survived by her children Gregory, Christine Holzinger (Arthur), Daniel (Gail) and Brian (Sayda) and her grandchildren Ian Race, Jeremy Race, Sabrina Gigliello, Charles Race, Christine Poulin, John Andrus, Alexander Holzinger, Katherine Burczynski, Sara Young and 20 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by her close friend, Marjorie Rogers. Dorothy worked as a Dietician at the Carmel Central Schools in Carmel, NY. Dorothy was a great cook and was always an advocate for healthy eating habits and healthy living. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for many years and always enjoyed volunteering at St. Paul's events including organizing their Apple Fest. She was a member of The Joseph Jefferson Book Club of Oxford. She enjoyed crafts, embroidery, sewing, gardening and traveling. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Behe Funeral Home Inc. 21 Main Street, Oxford. Friends and family may call at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 34 Main Street, Oxford, NY, on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1:00PM -2:00PM. A funeral mass will begin at 2:00PM with Father David Hanselman officiating. Burial will take place following the funeral mass at Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
