Rebecca "Becky" Nixon

Rebecca “Becky” Nixon, 71, of Burlington, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 in her home. Born October 25, 1948 in Bloomfield, Iowa she was the daughter of James Lowell and Beatrice (Schafer) Matt. She married Lyle Nixon on June 15, 1969 in Bloomfield, he died November 20, 2018. Becky worked for Shafer Pen until her retirement in 2004. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the VFW Post #10102 Auxiliary. Becky was a loving and caring mom who loved spending time with her grandkids. She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets for all of her grandchildren and her family. She was an excellent cook. She is survived by her son Jeff (Wendy Shofe) Nixon of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Dalton, Kaleb, Noah, Paige, Taylor, Tyler and Niki; one great granddaughter Addly; one brother John (Diana) Matt of Burlington and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The visitation for Becky will be 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 26th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The graveside funeral service and interment will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27th at the Chambersburg Cemetery, Chambersburg, Missouri. A memorial has been established for the Chambersburg Cemetery.
