Ross passed away peacefully at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 94 into the loving arms of our heavenly father. He was a WWII Veteran and served two years in the Navy as a Signalman. He was a loyal member of the Windsor Heights Lions Club and past president. Ross worked at the Register and Tribune for 49 years and loved every minute of it. He made lifelong friends there and would get together for lunch over the years. He loved them like they were his own. Ross will be lovingly missed by his family and all who knew him. He was an incredibly kind man and loved life and loved people. The love he shared with his family will forever be treasured. He is survived by the love of his life, Peggy. They were blessed with 70 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter Sue Cooper (Bob), son Scott (Kelly), grandchildren Michelle and Jeffrey, and brother Bill (Carol). He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susan, and his son Jeff. We are so very grateful to the staff at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines for their excellent care of Ross and for all they do for our Veterans. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. at the Westover Funeral Home with Graveside Services following at 2:30 p.m.at the Glendale Cemetery.
