Jody L. Hartman, 70, of Quincy, IL, passed away at 11:30 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Sunset Home in Quincy. A private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Quincy. The family is being served by the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Jody was born May 2, 1950, in Hannibal, MO to E. Kenneth and Carol G. McNett Parsons. She was married to John Hartman on April 21, 1972 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2017. Survivors include one sister, Joy Gray (Carl) of Quincy, IL; two brothers-in-law, Roger Hartman (Mary) of Chatham, IL and Ron Hartman (Sandy) of Oswego, IL; two nephews, Chris Hartman of Chicago, IL and David Hartman of Chicago, IL; and one niece, Mallorie Summers (Jake) of Sunnyvale, CA. In addition to her husband, Jody was preceded in death by her parents. Professionally, Jody was an accountant for the State of Illinois Department of Human Services for 32 years until her retirement in 2002. Jody was a member of Elks Lodge #100, Twin Oaks Club, Rocky Point Club, Sangamon County Republican Club, and the Animal Protective League in Springfield, IL. She loved being on and working on their family farm, "Turkey Run Farm", in Lorraine, IL. She also loved all animals and was known to adopt neighborhood cats. Most of all, Jody was devoted to her family and was a loving caregiver to her parents and husband. The family would like to thank Molly and April with Blessing Hospice as well as the 4th floor staff at Sunset Home for their loving care of Jody. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blessing Cancer Center, Quincy Humane Society, or Blessed Sacrament Church.
