Obituary

Victoria Whitecavage, 89, of Goffstown NH entered into eternal rest on October 22, 2020. Victoria was born in 1930 in Trenton, PA to Paul and Eva Barna.

Growing up poor during the Great Depression as the youngest of ten children in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania, Victoria always had many interesting stories to tell of that era and as she liked to say over the years, “ I could write a book!”

She was married to Henry Whitecavage of Mahoney City, PA, who predeceased her in 1994. Victoria worked for many years for King Koil Mattresses in PA.

In 1997, she moved to New Hampshire to live with her son and his family.

She enjoyed her retirement and loved sharing stories of her life, taking bus trips to the casinos, and making delicious Ukrainian and Polish foods for her grateful family.

Victoria was predeceased by her husband and parents and by eight of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son Henry Wojtkiewicz and his wife Lydia of Manchester NH. Also by her grandson Joseph Wojtkiewicz of Manchester and by her granddaughter Jaime LaPerle and husband Quinn of Longs, SC, and great-grandson Cooper LaPerle.

Survivors also include her sister Julia (Barna) Karas (and nephew Ken Karas) as well as her beloved niece and nephew Linda and Tom Yatcilla, all from Frackville, PA. Many other nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive her.

The family is extremely grateful for the gentle care Victoria received from the physicians and staff at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown and from the staff at Home, Health and Hospice of Manchester.

Goodwin Funeral Home of Manchester is in charge of final arrangements. Memorial services and burial will be held next Spring in Newtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, Victoria would have wished any memorial donations to be made to Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester NH 03102.
