Felix Coutee, 86 Obituary

Felix Coutee The Life Story of Felix Coutee Death is a page we turn a new chapter in the book of life. It is not the end, it is a new beginning. Not the fall of night, but another dawn. Obituary “Earth has no sorrows that heaven cannot heal.” Felix Coutee was born June 10, 1934 in Cloutierville, Louisiana, to the parents of John Coutee and Mary Metoyer Coutee. He departed this life at Rapides Regional Medical Center on October 21, 2020. Felix married the love of his life Mrs. Mary Coutee on December 24, 1952. To their union, five children were born. Felix was employed with Louisiana Industries for thirty years. There he was a faithful employee until retirement. By him being so energetic and bored at home, he went to work at Walmart of Alexandria as a people greeter. Pawpaw Coutee was a man of character and very independent. He loved the company of being around others, especially his family. Every weekend we would gather at his home for food, fun and to play dominoes. Papa may have seemed quiet to others, but he was playful and fun to be around. His age did not stop him from enjoying everyday life. One of his favorite pastimes was word search books. Daily he would take his morning ride on his bicycle through and around the neighborhood visiting others and collecting those “Famous Aluminum Cans.” Felix is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Coutee; parents, John Coutee and Mary Metoyer Coutee; brothers, McKinley Coutee, John D. Coutee, and John Allen Coutee; and sisters, Lillian Rachal and Corrine Rachal. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Larry Coutee (Beverly) of Alexandria, Louisiana, Douglas Coutee (Joyce) of Dayton, Ohio, and Audrey Taylor (George), Helen Barbin (Gary) and Glen Coutee, all of Alexandria, Louisiana; two brothers, Daren Coutee of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Frank Coutee of Inglewood, California; sister, Clara LaCour of Cloutierville, Louisiana; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. An 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. James Memorial Catholic Church, 714 Winn Street, Alexandria, LA 71301. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. and Rosary will begin at 10:15 a.m. Mr. Coutee will be taken to Garden of Memories Cemetery immediately following the service for Final Committal Rites. Please keep the Coutee Family lifted in prayer. ~Miller & Hill "The Funeral Directors"
