Carl Wayne Cathey, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at his residence in Brownsville, TN. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020. at 2:00 PM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN, with Bro. Lonnie Robison officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Lea & Simmons Funeral Home. Wayne was born on October 29, 1952, in Haywood County, TN to George Carl and Margie Allen Cathey. He worked in construction throughout his life. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Allen Cathey. He is survived by his father, Carl Cathey of Brownsville, TN; one son, Craig Cathey (Tonya) of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Randy Cathey and Brian Cathey. He leaves a legacy of two grandchildren, Megan Burns and Madison Cathey. Pallbearers for the service are Morris Long, Brian Cathey, and Randy Cathey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
