Lynda Marie Bisson Glace Bay, Nova Scotia Obituary

Lynda Marie Bisson

Lynda Bisson Glace Bay On October 20th, I lost my best friend, our girls lost their mom, and many people lost a good friend. After all she had been through medically; Lynda Marie (Hill) Bisson was taken from us by cancer this past Tuesday morning. Lynda is survived by her husband, Barry, daughter, Michelle (Mike), of Surrey, BC, daughter, Nicole, of Sydney, NS; along with sisters, Brenda Dunn, Helen Spears (Cecil), Joan Hill; brother, Richard Geddes; step-sisters, Heather MacNeil, Elizabeth Geddes; step-brother, Andrew Geddes; and sister-in-law, Wendy Currie (Donnie). Lynda was predeceased by her parents, Joe Hill and Mary ‘Toots’ Geddes, step-father, Alex Geddes, brother, Ronnie Hill, Nana Helen, in-laws Wilfred & Mary Bisson; and Aunt Shirley Nemis, who meant the world to her. Lynda worked most of her life in retail, beginning at the Cape Breton Post in Glace Bay, alongside her favorite uncle, Jamsey. From there, Lynda worked for Reitman’s and eventually D’Allaird’s Ladies Wear, until 1991, when her medical journey began. Lynda loved to play bingo (though hated winning) and spend time in her gardens. She was a member of the Glace Bay Kinette’s, and more recently, the Glace Bay General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, where she enjoyed spending time in the gift shop helping to raise money for items needed around the hospital. Lynda will be missed by her best buddies, Sheila Bray; Sharon, MaryLou, and Sharon, who she was in Club with for over 40+ years. Lynda will also be missed by her feline buddy, Wesley, who loved to sneak human-treats from the table, get in her way going down the hall, and cuddle while watching Antiques Road Show. We had 48+ years together, two wonderful girls and lots of good times. As Matt Minglewood says on his latest album, I’m closer to heaven than I ever was. Love, Barry, Michelle & Mike, and Nicole The family would like to thank Dr. Kent Cadegan, Brenda MacDonald, the Palliative Care team, all the 3rd floor nurses at Glace Bay General who’ve helped Lynda over the years, and the Manager and staff of Shoppers in Glace Bay. Thank you all so much. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020, all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). A graveside service will be held for Lynda on Saturday, August 28,2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Cemetery, MacLeod's Road, Glace Bay, NS. Due to COVID-19 Restrictions Social Distancing and Masks are required. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com
