James Wilton Labbe Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for James “Jim” Labbe, 81, who passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at his home in Church Point at 3:00 A.M. Père Rozas, from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel by Fr. Broussard. Visitation will resume on Friday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services. Survivors include one daughter, Candace Bellard of Church Point; one son, Braylin J. Smith of Church Point; one step daughter, Bridgit and husband, Kendall Vallier of Rockhill, SC; one brother, Ray Allan and wife, Shirlene Labbe of Church Point; four grandchildren, Paige and husband, Jordy Boone, Jeane’a Faul, Shayla Vallier, David and wife, Ellery Vallier; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Darlene LeJeune, Jerri Lynn LaPoint; one nephew, Jeffery Labbe; one special cousin, Janelle Matte. Mr. Labbe was preceded in death by one step daughter, Deanna Faul; one great-granddaughter, Eden Boone; the mother of his children, Phyllis Labbe; his parents, Ernest and Ada B. Labbe; three brothers, Homer, Eldridge and Raymond Labbe. Family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Daniel Duhon and staff. Also a thank you to Grace Home Health and Grace Hospice for all the love and care they gave at their time of need. Mr. Labbe worked many years as a dragline operator for Central Industries. He enjoyed getting family together and playing Cajun Music. He would play the accordion. He liked spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren it was important that he seen them on a regular basis. Pallbearers for the service will be Braylin Smith, Jordy Boone, Jeffery Labbe, Ray Allen Labbe, Logan LaPoint, and Clint Matte. The honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Koehen and Beckham Boone.
