Marie Emily Merrill Obituary

Marie Merrill entered the gates of glory on October 20th after a period of declining health at the age of 82. She was a resident of Campton for 58 years. Marie was born on December 21, 1937 in Rumney NH to Mildred (Camp) and Lester Coffin. She was married to her husband Winston for over 45 years and had two daughters, Tammy and Robin. Marie was proud to be a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker, making her childrens clothes, canning and freezing numerous vegetables from the garden, loved crafts, cooking, gardening, avid animal lover, and most of all spending time with her family. Marie owned her own craft shop, worked at a clothing factory, and was a member of Campton Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 10 years. She also worked at Kelly’s florist and used to sing in a country band in her early years. Marie was a strong woman of faith, had a great sense of humor, and loved making people feel welcome at her home. Her pride and joy was being a grandmother which she cherished every moment with her grandchildren. We can only imagine what a beautiful reunion in heaven it was for her and her family members that preceded her. She will be greatly missed here on Earth by all who knew her especially by her daughter Robin. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Winston Merrill, daughter Tammy Marie Merril, sisters Jeanette Neil and Myrtle Benton, and brother Robert Coffin. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Merrill Morse and husband Brad Morse of Holderness, NH. Grandson Nicholas Morse and wife Chelsea (Emery) Morse of Sandown, NH. Grandson Zachary Morse and wife Lexi (Brandin) Morse of Bridgewater, NH. Sisters Mary Robertson and Nancy Robinson. Brothers Charlie Coffin, Dickie Coffin, and John Coffin. Brother in laws Richard Merrill, Bernard Merrill and many nieces and nephews. A Outdoor graveside service will be held at Blair Cemetery, on Blair road in Campton on Saturday October 24th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Campton Baptist Church or the NH Humane Society in Marie’s name.
