John Melvin Robbins, 83, of Windsor, Missouri, died Tuesday morning, October 20, 2020, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. He was born August 16, 1937, in Chilhowee, Mo., the son of Clarence Edward Robbins and Maude Ellen (Matthews) Robbins. On January 12, 1963, in Calhoun, Mo., he married Lola Irene Hagar and she survives of the home. He worked for the cheese plant and the hatchery in Windsor for several years. He also worked in maintenance at Central Missouri State University (now UCM), and had also worked for Tyson. Melvin was also a cattle farmer and enjoyed horses and was a member of the ElDorado Saddle Club. He was also a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Windsor. In addition to his wife, survivors include a brother, Charles Robbins (Connie), Warrensburg, Mo.; 2 sisters, Juanita Detherage (Dale), Leeton, Mo., and Linda O’Neal, Holden, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews, including Wyatt Veach; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ralph Robbins; 3 sisters, Ruth LaRue, Mary Ellen Vansel, and JoAnn Johnson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor John Streit officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
