Wolfeboro, NH
Dennis M. Davey, 70, died on Monday, October 19, 2020, at his home in Wolfeboro, NH. He was born September 22, 1950, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph and Evelyn (Vogel) Davey.
Dennis graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1968. After graduation, he married his love, Kathy H. Nelson, from Methuen, MA. They were married just a few weeks shy of 50 years.
In 1973, with a young family at home, Dennis graduated from Merrimack College with a BA in English. Following that, he joined the NH State Police, where he was known for his courage, integrity, loyalty, intelligence, and attention to detail. He retired as a Sergeant in 1987, and then went on to prosecute for the Moultonborough, Sandwich, and Wolfeboro Police Departments. After 23 more years of public service and dedication, he finished his much loved career to spend more time with those he cherished most, his family.
He is predeceased by his parents and is survived by his wife, Kathy, and three children: Hilary DesMarais of Eliot, ME, Brendan Davey and his wife, Taryn, of Wolfeboro, NH, and Jillian Lawlor and her husband, Kevin, of Melvin Village, NH.
Dennis had nine grandchildren; Sam, Bryn, Margaret, Liam, Megan, Cullen, Addison, Maura, and Jonathan. He adored them all and would sing their praises given any opportunity.
He enjoyed boating, family get-to-gethers, Corvette rides, correcting poor grammar, and his favorite dog, Ernie. He will be remembered for his huge heart, which he wore on his sleeve. He loved fiercely and shared his sentiments openly, much like his Savior and role model, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will take place at the Hersey Cemetery, on Pine Hill Rd. in Wolfeboro, on Thursday, October 22, at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting all donations be sent to VNA & Hospice at, www.centralvna.org.
